3D scanning services were used extensively during the construction phase of the Cathedral’s restoration. Scanning the cellar level and crawl space areas, along with the sanctuary level, a digital model was created that provided existing clearances and access available for piping and duct penetrations. The scan data was used to create a floor plan along with a series of cross sections through the crawl space area, enabling delicate piping and ductwork installations to progress smoothly.
