The Ritz Carlton Hotel is an iconic Manhattan landmark, rich in detail and ornamentation. These organic architectural elements are often difficult to measure and document with conventional techniques. Using 3D Laser scanning technology, the entire façade was recorded within one day, a substantial reduction over time required using traditional hand measuring methods. The resulting CAD files derived from the 3D data served as a basis for the architect’s on-site study and their final drawings for renovations and rehabilitation to the building.
