The quality lab is an extremely critical phase of any manufacturing process. Assessing critical dimensions and key features in the final inspection process can delay shipments to customers and create bottlenecks in your company's bottom line. ECM headquarters offers a temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Laboratory for all large and small part inspection service needs. We provide a wide range of high-accuracy measurement solutions for multiple applications in industries ranging from healthcare to aerospace to energy research. Whether servicing small manufacturers or leading companies across a diverse range of industries, ECM takes pride in our ability to provide comprehensive solutions for the simplest to the most exacting application.

What is CMM Scanning Inspection
A 3D laser scanner is a measuring device placed on a fixed or portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) that analyzes data by collecting point clouds from real-world objects or the environment. Shape, contours, dimensions, and many other details are scanned by the device and stored in various software programs to ultimately create a 3D digital computer-aided design (CAD) model for purposes such as re-creation, duplication, historical preservation, and most commonly, flaw detection and prevention.
CMM Inspection - How it Works
Using CAD models and blue prints to communicate the geometry of a part and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME and ISO standards), our measurement services can be used on any project, short or long term basis with an on-site or in-house presence. Customers within selected industries such as medical, automotive, aerospace, consumer products, tool makers, industrial design and military are benefiting as a result of CAD-based inspection. ECM has the ability to use non-contact 3D laser scanner as well as scanning touch probes to collect data for CAD-to-part comparison. Equipment and reports are traceable to the National Institute of Standards & Technology.
ECM has an in-house metrology lab which includes a variety of inspection equipment listed below.
- CMMs
- Interferometers
- Vision Systems
- Optical Comparators
- Profilometers
- Portable CMM Arms (Contact & Non-Contact)
- Laser Scanners
- Height Gages
