Quantum FAROArm

Quantum FAROArm

The Quantum FaroArm is the preeminent portable coordinate measuring machine (PCMM) that allows manufacturers easy verification of product quality by performing 3D inspections, tool certifications, CAD comparison, dimensional analysis, reverse engineering, and more. The FaroArm has become the global standard for arm technology and has been specifically designed to meet the diverse and ever-increasing requirements of both large and small-to-medium manufacturing customers. Quantum FaroArm has the power to take metrology — and your business — where it has never gone before. The FARO QuantumS, QuantumM and QuantumE are the first – and only – Arms in the market that can be verified against the international certification standard for articulated arm coordinate measuring machines, ISO 10360-12:2016, which ensures maximum measurement consistency and reliability in a wide range of work environments.

FaroArm Test Methods - (Test methods are a subset of those given in the B89.4.22 standard.)
Single Point Articulation Performance Test (Max-Min)/2:
The probe of the FaroArm is placed within a conical socket, and individual points are measured from multiple approach directions. Each individual point measurement is analyzed as a range of deviations in X, Y, Z. This test is a method for determining articulating measurement machine repeatability.
Volumetric Maximum Deviation:
Determined by using traceable length artifacts, which are measured at various locations and orientations throughout the working volume of the FaroArm. This test is a method for determining articulating measurement machine accuracy.
